GHS embarks on housing project for hospital Kumasi, Sept. 14, GNA - The Ghana Health Service (GHS), is constructing two bungalows estimated at about 453 million cedis for the Kumasi South Hospital to solve its accommodation problem.
The bungalows are being built for a medical officer, a midwife, an anaesthetist, a nursing officer and a laboratory technician. Dr Kofi Asare, Ashanti Regional Director of Health Services cut the sod for work to begin on the bungalows in Kumasi last Tuesday. He said work was progressing on a four-storey building at Abrepo junction in Kumasi, to accommodate other categories of health workers. Dr Frank Abebrese, Medical Superintendent of the Hospital commended the GHS for showing in practical terms its concern to solve accommodation problems facing the hospital.
Mr. Baiden Amissah, a Research Scientist at the Building and Road Research Institute (BRRI), Consultants to the project, said burnt bricks would be used to construct the buildings to enhance quality.Source: GNA
