TWO people, Joseph Aggrey, 46, and Abubaka Yussif, 26, have been arrested by the security agencies for alleged narcotic offences.

Briefing the Times in Accra yesterday, acting Deputy Executive Secretary of the Narcotic Control Board, Mark Ewuntomah, said Aggrey was arrested on January 3, at about 8.30 pm while going through departure formalities at the Kotoka International Airport to board a flight to Spain.

Mr. Ewuntomah said an X-ray examination conducted on Aggrey showed some foreign materials in his stomach and when he was put under observation he expelled 85 pellets of whitish substance suspected to be cocaine.

Aggrey reportedly told his interrogators that he bought the substance from two Nigerians he named as Abiola and Patrick at Christian Village, near Legon for 8,000 euros to be sold in Spain.

The second suspect, Yussif was arrested the same day at about 1.30 pm near the Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra while he was selling Indian hemp and 29 wrappers were found during a search on him.
