| Kumasi Polytechnic holds matriculation ceremony |

Kumasi, Jan 14, GNA- Dr Benjamin Eric Kwesi Prah, the Principal of Kumasi Polytechnic, has said that Ghanaians expects dedicated and quality services from the youth to justify the investments made by government in the educational sector.
He urged the youth to develop their talents as partners in the difficult task of building the nation into a prosperous one and called on government to continue making huge investments in education for the benefit of the Ghanaian youth.
Dr Prah was addressing students of the Kumasi Polytechnic at its matriculation ceremony for the 2006/2007 academic year in Kumasi on Saturday.
He stressed the need for students to avoid negative practices and learn the art of self-discipline and self-mastery.
The Principal emphasised the need for them to work harder in their academic pursuit for which they were admitted into the institution. He advised them to do away with the temptation of exposing themselves to aimless and unproductive ventures.
"Your education here is not a long distance race where you begin slowly and finish hard. It is best to start well and to maintain a steady pace and progress throughout", he added. Dr Prah urged the students to study the rules and regulations of the Polytechnic carefully and abide by them always especially in seeking redress to their grievances.
He disclosed that out of 3,296 applicants who applied for admission, the Polytechnic was able to admit 2,475 students made up of 1,039 males and 1,436 females.Source:
