After a long debate on whether the former president, Mr. J. J. Rawlings should be invited to play a role in the upcoming Ghana@50 anniversary celebrations or not, the Castle is about to instruct the chief executive of Ghana@50 Secretariat, Mr. Charles Wereko Brobby, to do what has been described as “taming the wild bull of the land,” the Ghanaian Voice(GV) newspaper has gathered.
Castle sources told GV yesterday that top officials who form the nucleus of the New Patriotic Party government were divided over what to do with former president, Mr. J. J. Rawlings, with regard to the upcoming Ghana@50 anniversary celebrations. The paper learnt that doves in government contented that the presence of the former president cannot be done away with on such a momentous Golden Jubilee anniversary.
Dr. Wereko-Brobbey, has been requested to quickly design a programme that will involve the former president to play host to some foreign dignitaries who are about to visit the country and again give him the opportunity to deliver lectures at some sessions during the celebrations. It is also established that a high powered delegated has been set up to meet Mr. Rawlings for discussions on other roles he is too play in the celebrations.
