Dennis Adjei-Brenya, the counsel for Hon. Eric Amoateng, the member of parliament(MP) facing charges of conspiracy to transport and distributing heroin in the United States has denied media speculations that his client has been released. “It is far from the truth that my client has been released from jail as some press houses are speculating since the case is still pending and has been adjourned to sine die, and it is unfortunate and unfair that most of the press houses do not cross check their facts before going to publication” Lawyer Adjei-Brenya noted.
“I always visit my client once in every week and I can assure the good people of Ghana that Hon. Amoateng is in a healthy condition, wishing his family and his constituents a happy new year” the lawyer concluded
Meanwhile, Adjei-Brenya has disclosed that he will be coming to Ghana to attend the 50th Anniversary of Ghana’s Independence.
He will be meeting the Speaker of the Parliament, Hon. Hughes Sakyi, family members of the Hon. Amoateng at Nkoranza and other top level government officials to brief them on some aspects on the current situation of the Amoateng narcotics case.
