| Rawlings Lambasts Atta Mills |

Prof. John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills, presidential candidate for the opposition NDC came under severe attack from his boss ex-President J. J. Rawlings for honouring an invitation to the Castle during Kofi Annan’s home coming. The Sun’s usual reliable sources at Ridge residence of the former President indicated that a day after Prof Mills’ visit to the Castle he was summoned by his boss to explain why he honoured the invitation by the government.
The paper learnt that the ex-president whose relationship with President J. A. Kufuor, has grown from bad to worse questioned Prof. Mills why he went to the Castle. Rawlings who saw Prof. Mills’ action as a stab in the back did not take things easy but opened up his indignation and lambasted Mills for the visit. The Sun gathered that during the hostility Prof. Mills who could not withstand the anger of his boss, tried to explain himself but ended up telling his boss all sorts of stories including discussions that took place between him and some senior government officials at the castle.
The Sun gathered that aspect of Prof. Mills’ pronouncement during the meeting became the news item the next day in a pro-NDC newspaper about the national security minister.
However Mr Victor Smith, in a chat with The Sun denied any knowledge about the said encounter between Mills and Rawlings The paper’s source expressed grave concern about the attack on Prof. Mills and also blamed the NDC’s presidential candidate and the elephants that were made out of ants about a friendly chat that took place between him and some government officials at the Castle which was splashed in the in the pro-NDC newspaper attacking national security minister.
“The former vice president has persistently shown that he is not yet his own man. Why should he be made to go through that useless attack?, the source questioned. Does it mean that Prof. .Mills, would have to be reporting to somebody when he is given the mandate to manage this country? The source questioned.
