Fathia Nkrumah paralysed 3/2/2007
Madam Fathia Nkrumah, wife of Ghana’s first President Dr. Kwame Nkrumah is reported paralysed.

Her Son, Gamel Gorkeh Nkrumah told Joy FM’s Front Page programme host Kwaku Sakyi Addo that Madam Fathia, 75, was in critical but stable condition at the Cairo Hospital in Egypt after suffering a stroke on February 9, 2007.

Gamel said his mother planned to attend the celebrations of Ghana’s independence but was unable to do so now as a result of the paralyses, which has rendered her unable to walk.

He said the Government of Ghana has assured to foot her hospital bills after being informed about the development.

Madam Fathia has been living in Maadi, Egypt and was in Ghana for the 40th Independence Anniversary celebration in 1997.
