| Spio Garbrah Working Closely With Mills |

Dr. Spio Garbrah, one of the candidates who contested for the flagbearer position of the NDC has stated that he has not turned his back on his party but continues to be in close contact with the NDC flagbearer and the party leadership even while in London.
The former education minister and current chief executive of the Commonwealth Telecommunication Organisation disclosed this in a brief chat with the Lens newspaper last week.
He corrected the wrong notion circulating in certain circles that he left the country soon after his unsuccessful bid for the NDC top shot and has not fulfilled his promise to support the Party and Prof. Mills, the NDC flagbearer.
“I did not leave immediately as is being said in certain quarters. I remained in Ghana until after the New Year. I accompanied Prof. Mills to visit the Central Mosque on the Friday preceding the New Year.
I subsequently threw a party at Gomoa Fetteh to thank my sympathizers and this was attended by the Party’s general secretary and the national organizer. The communication guru stated that he has been in close contact with not only Prof. Mills but the Founder and other top party executives. He said one of the main areas he is working closely with Prof. Mills is the domain of fundraising to fuel the important activities ahead of the Party.
Dr. Spio Garbrah expressed regret that an unusually tight schedule made it difficult for him to be in the country to help the party ahead of last Tuesday’s bye elections. He however stated that he will definitely be in town by the end of March to directly contribute to the party’s plans and strategies for the 2008 elections.
About the Golden Jubilee celebrations, he also said that he would very much have wished to have freed himself in order to have formed part of the NDC delegation that was present at the function.
Dr. Spio also pledged that he will continue in his own way to raise the national flag high through the work he is doing at the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation.
