BrainDrain@TOR: Workers complain of sexual problems
The ongoing saga at the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) took a new twist following more revelations on the situation by a worker of TOR.

A senior technician at TOR who pleaded anonymity said the actual number of workers intending to leave is actually seventy-eight and not fourteen as disclosed earlier.

Further throwing light on the issue, he added that the chemicals used at TOR have adversely affected the sexual health of the workers to such an extent that they are unable to give birth and their wives are threatening to leave them. He said conditions of work generally were not very satisfactory. He called on the government to address the issue of staff remuneration as quickly as possible.

It is feared that work at the refinery could come to a standstill as many of the technical and key staff are leaving the company.

Meanwhile in reaction to these allegations, the Public Relations Manager of Tema Oil Refinery, Abba Lokko said she would not know the exact number of workers who are leaving the refinery and that Kwame may be in contact with the other employees who are leaving.

When Paul Adom Otchere asked her what she will do about the rumour that seventy eight of TOR staff had left the company, Miss Lokko said they are conducting investigations into the matter.
