| Ghana needs transformational leaders |

Accra, Aug 25, GNA- Mr Manuel Budu Adjei, President of the Ghana Christian University College (GCUC), on Saturday said, Ghana needs transformational leaders who would inspire the people to give their best in any field they may find themselves He said such effective leadership comes from "people who do not only think transformation but are transformational". " Such men supervise the work they give out timely selflessly and energetically," he said".
Mr Budu Adjei made the call during the 41st annual graduation ceremony of the College in Accra.
The ceremony saw 21 students graduating with certificate in Pastoral Ministry, Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theology, Diploma in Pastoral Ministry and Higher Certificate in Pastoral Ministry. Speaking on the theme "The responsibility of the Christian leader in transforming the Ghanaian society", the President of the GCUC said the University specializes in transformational leadership development and therefore produces graduates that provide cutting edge leadership ministry.
He said the mission of the University was to educate Christian leaders for church and society to be committed to excellence. Mr Budu Adjei said the university was heeding to the cry on the African continent for a new breed of leaders who would emancipate the people and their suffering in the mist of many. "GCUC pledges to continue churning out leaders of excellence and integrity to lead in the transformation of our communities," he added. Mr Budu Adjei urged the grandaunts "to emulate the works of Jesus by liberating the people and also follow his leadership examples and agenda.
"The gospel you preach must contribute to the fullness of life for individuals, leading to a renewed and revitalized creation." He advised them not to abandon their uniqueness and shun mediocrity by rising above the average.
Rev. Abraham Ofori-Kuragu, of the Apostolic Church, Ghana, said leadership was not about power, authority, honour, prestige or personal advantage, but rather being a servant to the people one was representing.
He said people in leadership should be able to transform the lives of their followers through honesty, humility, love, and integrity. They set standards that they themselves seek to satisfy. "We need a Christian Leadership culture that is sensitive to the needs of the people and seeks to satisfy them. A culture of Leadership that will set national agenda and seek to mobilize people to achieve same" he added.Source:
