| Mantse to Sue BNI and Gbovlo-Lartey |

The Gbese Mantse in the Ga traditional area, Nii Okaidja III who is occupying the Gbese throne at the moment, has threatened to sue the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) and the National security co-ordinator, Lt. Col. Larry Gbevlo Lartey for raiding his Palace. Speaking to Peace FM’s Morning Show, “Kokrokoo,” Nii Okaidja III said, Lt.Col. Gbevlo Lartey ordered the BNI security men to storm his Palace and arrest his Asafo group, without notice. According to him, the BNI left a message that he and his subjects should not set foot at the Gbese Palace in their own interest.
Nii Okaidja said he legally occupies the Gbese Palace with a high court order as Mantse, but the BNI are currently restraining him and his people from having access to the Palace. They are also denying him the right as a chief to perform an annual ritual as part of preparations towards this year’s Homowo festival, so he intends to sue them for contempt of High Court orders.Nii Okaidja was speaking in reaction to newspaper reports this morning that the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) operatives last Wednesday stormed the Gbese Palace, arrested the Asafo group and warned the Gbese Mantse, Nii Okaidja III, and his group not to set foot there for their own good.
The Daily Guide newspaper reported that, the incident which took the occupants of the Palace by surprise, was reported to have been under the instructions of the National Security Co-ordinator, Lt. Col Larry Gbevlo-Lartey, as a means of maintaining peace in the area. It has also been established that BNI officials have currently mounted a 24-hour surveillance at the Palace, restraining the chief and his subjects from having access to the place.
