Invest in the Oil and Gas Industry - Kofi Ankama 5/13/2010

Longest term investments must be made in the oil and gas industry rather than in the oil and gas industry.

This is because without hospitality the oil and gas find will remain under ground.

Mr. Kofi Ankama Chief Executive of Cleaning Solutions Limited, made the observation in an address read on his behalf on Tuesday at a cleaning and hygiene training workshop for management and staff in the hospitality industry in the Volta region.

The two day workshop is being jointly organized by the Ghana Tourist Board (GTB) and Cleaning Solutions Limited to improve staff quality and services that will encourage continued visits from tourists and also help the industry achieve her goals and grow incessantly.

Mr. Ankama-Asamoah explained that the hospitality industry will attract increased employment much more than the oil and gas industry since it is cheaper and easier to invest in that industry which has high returns.

He reminded stakeholders in the hospitality industry to be mindful of the fact that existed before the discovery of oil and gas, would continue to serve the oil and gas whilst being drilled and would remain long after the oil has dried up.

Mr. Charles Obeng, regional manager of GTB, said about 400 people have been earmarked for training throughout the region to expose the dynamism of the industry and that those who would not avail themselves would be denied repeat visits by tourists.

He observed that hygienic conditions are crucial to the growth, dynamism and development of the hospitality industry and the return of satisfied guests.
