President Mills approves the establishment of Anomabo Fisheries College 5/22/2011
President John Evans Atta Mills has given approval for the establishment of an Implementation Committee for the Anomabo Fisheries College, which would be a satellite campus of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) in the Central Region.

A statement issued in Accra yesterday and signed by Nii Amasah Namoale, Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture In-Charge of Fisheries, said the Nine-Member Committee would be chaired by Mr Kwesi Ahwoi, Minister for Food and Agriculture.

The other members are Mr K. Abaka-Quansah, Office of the President and Ms Dora Parker, Assemblywoman, Krowkesim-Okokodo Electoral Area, Anomabo.

The rest are Professor Fredrick N.A. Odoi and Dr Joseph Aggrey-Fynn both of the University of Cape Coast, Mr Samuel Danquah Arkhurst, Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning and Mr Alexis Kwabena Asuinara, Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund).

The others are Nana Owiansa V, Guantoahene of Anomabo Traditional Area and Mrs Sylvia Nyante of the Agricultural Development Bank (ADB).

It said mandate of the committee which would cover the initial construction of the College would expire on October 31, 2013.
