The Member of Parliament for Ahafo Ano South constituency Stephen Kwaku Balado Manu is worried about the way he says Ghana’s Parliament is being reduced to a loan approving house. According to him the house has been inundated with approving too many loans in recent times. The MP raised the matter on the floor of Parliament during the approval of a 45 million dollar loan agreement between the government of Ghana and African Development Fund, for a grant of USD 25 million dollars. The loan is aimed at improving ICT through the development of Skills for Industry Project. He stated that parliament has been completely reduced to a loan contracting center, adding that the chairman of the Finance committee James Klutse Avedzi has been nicked named chairman for the committee of loans. However chairman of the Finance committee James Klutse Avadzi rebutted and said the house was simply undertaking its duty of approving loans as mandated by the 1992 constitution.
