NDC will be rocked by a proper revolution after December polls - Rawlings 10/14/2012

Former president Jerry John Rawlings has indicated a “proper revolution” will rock the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) after the 2012 elections.

According to him, that revolution will lead to a house cleansing of the party he founded.

Mr Rawlings, speaking during the first ever National Delegates’ Congress of the breakaway National Democratic Party (NDP) at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi Saturday, stated that that revolution will take effect before “we can join hands.”

The former president, who did not fail to use the opportunity to pontificate his long espoused principles of probity, accountability and social justice, rehashed his allegations of corruption against the NDC.

According to him, the party''s inability to stick to his long espoused principles has led it to being paranoid and afraid of going into opposition.

Though he admitted president Mahama has brought “a bit of hope” to the NDC, Rawlings maintained that some elements in the party would have to leave before they could reunite with the party.

Mr Rawlings further revealed that he owes a stronger allegiance to the NDP than to the NDC due to the latter loss of what he terms as "moral high grounds|.
