| GIPC, CEOs of public institutions donated to NDC’s Heroes Fund |

It has emerged that the Ghana Investment Promotion Center (GIPC) allegedly made another generous donation to the ruling party’s Heroes Fund.
The new revelation comes in the wake of what has been bad press for the Investment Promotion Centre.
The GIPC boss George Aboagye has resigned following allegations he gave out 4,000 cedis to a splinter group within the NDC- Volunteers for Mahama.
He was also accused of giving out 20,000 cedis for the birthday celebration of the Board of Centre Ishmael Yamson but the Board chair denied claiming the cheque was returned.
But George Aboagye later contradicted the claims by the Board chair insisting only 11,000 cedis was returned and not the entire 20,000 cedis as said by Ishmael Yamson.
Just when the dust appeared to be settling on the matter, Editor In chief of the New Crusading Kweku Baako Jnr says he has evidence the Centre is in the centre of yet another misappropriation of public funds, only this time, other Chief Executive Officers of other public institutions are involved.
Speaking on Newsfile on Joy FM, Kweku Baako said the GIPC boss asked his finance officer to pay an amount of 1,500 cedis into the accounts of the Heroes Fund- a fund instituted by the NDC help members of the party.
Baako produced a June 29, letter from the head of the Community Water and Sanitation Programme in which an appeal was made to the GIPC boss and for all CEOs of public institutions to contribute to the Heroes Fund.
The Newspaper editor further went ahead to provide another document in which the GIPC boss minuted to his finance officer for the amount to be paid into the fund.
He said there is enough documentation to show that other CEOs of public institutions dipped their hands into the public purse to pay the amount into the fund.
Malik Baako said despite his huge respect for the Board chairman, Ishmael Yamson, he must resign on principle, as the CEO of the Centre did.
A deputy Information Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa who was on the show said he is disgusted by the report.
He explained such appeals are always made even to ministers and deputy ministers to help the party but the payment must not come from the public purse, rather from individual pockets.
