| Praye Will Lift The Flag Of Ghana High At The KORA All Africa Music Awards |

There are ‘mad’ kids out there ready to scuttle the hiplife applecart. If you are ready, let''s welcome Praye. They are lyricists who paint pictures with words and complex phrases. Bola Ray of Joy FM describes them as “dudes who are sleek and whose wordplays are seasoned”.
People out there are ranking them as the next big thing to happen after Tupac in terms of writing and composing. No question Praye has dominated the upper cluster of 2005 with their poetry. That is exactly how R Kelly dropped onto the music world.
Already, Praye is dominating the music industry with their hot microphone tactics. Hear their names, ‘Praye ho ne ho’ also known as Eugene Baah, ‘Praye tiatia’ also known as Steven Fiawoo and ‘Praye tenten’ known in real life as Nana Kwame, straight out of Accra, Ghana.
In an interview with Ghana Music.Com, ‘Praye ho ne ho’ (Eugene) explained why they chose the name Praye. “Well, we chose the name Praye because this in English means a broom and since a broom is a tool for sweeping, we are also here to sweep the social vices through our music”.
These young talented guys joined forces three days to the Greater Accra Nescafe African Revelation contest in Ghana and joined the competition on the last day of the auditioning of the Greater Accra contestants.
Since they are good writers and make brilliant music, they were selected for the competition and came out third in the Greater Accra contest. On September 16 2004, they got bigger and came out first in the finals of the NAR Ghana contest. Do you remember how they smashed you to smithereens with their singing and a little bit of rap? That was just an introduction.
On March 19 2005, Ghana precisely the Independence Square came alive as they conquered the crowd with their cunning lyrics and moved them into frantic ecstasy with their ''Mfitiasee'' album at the Nescafe African Revelation Pan African Final.
The African pop artistes represented Ghana to compete with other artistes from Senegal, Burkina Faso, Mali and other West African countries.
Managed by KOD of Radio Gold under OM Studios, Praye went one rung higher this year with their 10-track humorous album titled ‘Mfitiasee’ (The Beginning) which was recorded by three different sound engineers namely Dan, KSN and Apietus of Cre8tive Studios and produced by Lisarf Music Productions.
Trendsetters of African pop championed the industry with lovely tracks such as ‘Shoddy’, ‘Lasurpadora’, ‘Efie Ne Fie’, ‘Okafoo Didi, ‘Courage Brother’, ‘Kookoo Ase Krakye’, ‘Onoaa Na Mepe’, ‘Obituary’ and the likes.
All the salty gossip columns ran the line, as they are “the next Westlife”. After their sterling performance at the NAR Ghana and NAR Pan African Final, they have left a mark in the hearts of Ghanaians.
With their ''Mfitiasee'' album that has captured the hearts of many, there is no doubt that they will make it. So sit back, relax and watch them as they lift the flag of Ghana high at the KORA All Africa Music Awards. Moreover, as they explode, remember where you read it first.
