US-based Senegalese R&B star, Akon on Friday night kept patrons of the Akon Music Show held at the Accra International Conference Centre screaming for more of his songs after a successful show.
Akon, who has been busting charts across Europe with his platinum-plus album titled, ‘Trouble’ kept the crowd chanting for more each time he finished a track at the heavily packed conference centre.
The Show kicked off at about 21:58 Friday night with some splendid hip life tunes from new hip life sensation, Kwabena Kwabena.
Other Hip life stars including Praye, Wutah, Obour and Batman entertained the crowd for more than two hours before ushering in the US-based star.
Then when the patrons could not hold on any longer they started chanting Akon’s name thus compelling the organizers to prepare the stage for the R&B star.
Backed by a ten-member band, Akon shot on stage to do what he knows best; provide heavy crowd pulling songs from his Trouble album.
Songs like “Ghetto”, “Lonely”, and “Locked Up” among others kept the crowd yelling for more and Akon had the patience to deliver on their request.
Akon was in Nigeria earlier this year to give his fans a taste of himself and the Ghana Show was an extension.
For more than two hours the crowd kept yelling and Akon pushed the tracks on.
In the end, a number of the patrons who spoke with JOYNEWS described the show as successful and the best their money had bought for them in the year 2005.
The Show was organized by the American-based events organizers, 100 degress and was supported by JOY FM.
