Stacy is In Vogue 1/25/2007
Stacy Amoateng loves the camera and the fame that comes with it. Being married to a one time Hiplife heavyweight takes it into a little overdrive. Everybody knows her on ‘Music Music’ and her fans got used to the periodic stuttering on the mic.

That’s just Stacy being herself and reaching out to an audience who had gotten used to her. But the ‘Music Music’ poster girl had other dreams before TV. First she wanted to be a nurse, then a flight attendant, then a lawyer.

“I had a cousin who was into event organizing and I slowly warmed up to it. After a while I got into it and it seemed like a lot of fun and my folks were very supportive,” she says.

Stacy would unconsciously draw on her scarf and shift in her seat during the interview and when an intimate question popped up, she looked at me wondering whether or not to talk about her sex life. She wouldn’t say anything about whether she likes it hot or just smooth, but goes on a bit about her baby Calister. “You should ask my husband, he would tell you more,” she said.

Stacy’s got a new show on TV ‘In Vogue with Stacy’ -- a lifestyle piece with a little bit of everything. It’s a like a watered down version of DStv’s Carte Blanche. So there’s a part about fashion, technology and homes. Television is really boring lately and this show just might beef TV3’s content up somewhat.

“I’ve been working on lots of concepts for television with my husband. A lot of it happened when I got pregnant and I had lots of fights with my husband over it. But we’ve started ‘In Vogue’ and it looks like it will be a great run. I’m hoping that the seasons will never run out so my baby will grow up to watch it.”
