| Oguaahene opens 8th PANAFEST Bazaar |

Cape Coast, July 23, GNA- Osabarima Kwesi Atta II, the Omanhene of Oguaa Traditional Area, on Sunday cut the tape to open the 8th Pan African Historical Theatre Festival (PANAFEST) Expo/Bazaar at Adisadel College in Cape Coast.
The 11-day Bazaar, which is to kick start this year''s PANAFEST, Emancipation and Joseph Project, is being participated by 110 exhibitors from Ghana, Nigeria and Burkina Faso.
The Bazaar is being organised under the theme: "Re-uniting the African Family" and items on display included foot wears, artefacts, handicrafts, beads, and clothing.
Osabarima Atta, who is also the Executive Chairman of PANAFEST Foundation, said the exhibition was encouraging and urged Ghanaians, especially people in Cape Coast and Elmina to patronize the fair since it could assist in promoting the country''s tourism and culture. He said the event would go along way to honour Madam Efua Sutherland, a citizen of the Central Region, who initiated the festival.
Rabbi Kohain, Executive Secretary of the Foundation, indicated that everything was being done to make the festival a success, saying adequate security measures were initiated and sufficient booths also provided for exhibitors.
He said patronage was so far high, making this year''s festival one of the best events organised by the Foundation.
Rabbi Kohain explained that two years ago, not all booths at the festival were occupied but this year, more stands had to be created for the increasing number of exhibitors. He said the use of a single booth would attract GH=A290 whiles a double booth would cost GH=A2150.
Rabbi Kohain said the Ghana AIDS Commission and Lions Club would sensitise people on HIV/AIDS and organise eye screening at the fair. Many of the exhibitors GNA spoke to, said they were satisfied with facilities provided and expressed the hope that people would patronize their goods.
Other programmes lined up for the festival included a welcoming ceremony, symbolic boat riding from Cape Coast Castle "door of no return" to Elmina Castle (Dungeons), African scholars conference and official opening of the event on July 28 at Cape Coast Victoria Park.
