Hints have been dropped about Obrafuor, Ghana rap sofour, and his management team embarking on a project in service of God and country, one that is expected to stay in the minds of Ghanaians in every generation.
Reliable sources have confirmed Obrafuor’ s Black Stars (Ghanaian national team) project, which they say, will be launched in a few weeks’ time.
Songs for the project have been recorded at the Hush Hush studios with Jay Q and they feature Ofori Amponsah, Samini, Obour, Tinny, Chicago and Adez of TV3 Mentor II fame. Each of the two songs recorded has a main version and a jama version, which can easily be sang by every Black Stars supporter during a football match in the stadium.
One of the two songs is to cheer the stars to victory before a match and the other is to celebrate victory after a match is won.
The song is also a subtle celebration of ‘Ghanaianess’ with Ga, Twi, Hausa and Ewe being used as the main medium of expression. A close source told Showghana.com that the song is calculated to be the best Black Stars cheer song of all time.
An uncountable number of songs were recorded and released for the Black Stars during the world cup season but they all seem to have fizzled out with the sensation of the tournament. The new Obrafuor project that’s yet to be named may change the status quo and place the Ghanaian national team where it belongs when it comes to cheer songs.
