Narrow escape!…gospel diva’s car burnt beyond repair 10/9/2007
But for divine intervention, gospel songstress Evangelist Diana Asamoah would not have lived to launch her latest album come Sunday, September 30.

The Evangelist escaped death last Monday evening when a motorbike crossed her car at the Odiom Round-about in Kumasi at about 8pm.

According to Stephen Addai, the Public Relations Officer of Frimprince(the record label for the artiste), Diana was driving home after a few rounds in preparation for her upcoming album launch when the unfortunate incident happened.

“The motorbike crossed her and went under her Fiat Brada car. Both vehicles caught fire. Though the Fire Service were on hand, Diana’s car was burnt beyond repair,” Stephen told Showbiz on telephone from their Kumasi base.

“We thank God that she survived because it could have been fatal,” he added.

Though Diana did not sustain any injuries, she was rushed to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Hospital and was discharged that same evening. The motor- rider however sustained various degrees of injury and is currently on admission.

When Showbiz spoke to Diana, she sounded hale and hearty and said but for some bodily pains she was doing fine, “I thank God for my life, it could have been worse.”

Evangelist Diana Asamoah who came onto the gospel music scene a couple of years ago has three albums to her credit. Her third album which had the hit song, Akoko Abon, made her very popular and won her a couple of awards at the first ever Ceval Gospel Awards held last year.

Come Sunday, Diana will launch her fourth album titled M’adansidee (My Testimony) at the Bantama Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) at 2pm. Top gospel artistes are expected to grace the occasion with spectacular performances.
