Luciano The Best Ever To Rock Accra |

The Jah Messenger, Luciano, has demonstrated to his numerous Ghanaian funs, on his first appearance on the land that he is truly an icon and a force to reckon with in the global brotherhood of Rastafari.
At a show dubbed: ‘The African Charity Concert’, meant to raise funds and awareness in support of the flood victims in the three Northern Regions of Ghana, Luciano held the audience enthralled for close to an hour by his spirited performance. ‘There has never been anything like it on the land’, one senior Rasta said in comparison with other live reggae concerts in Ghana.
‘Seen? Mi come so close to mi idol, but mi no fit have a handshake’. Those were the words from me that forced the messenger off his seat backstage, breaking the cordon around him, leaping towards me, holding me in a warm embrace and shaking my hand. That was very special!!!
The connection between him and his aficionados was swift. By the time the man tumbled down on his knees to perform his ‘its me oh Jah, as I fall on my knees again’, the whole audience was gripped with some fit of passion; some were actually rolling on the bare floors of the independence square; others had no option than to sing along and keep jumping till that track finally faded away and gave way to another 30 minutes of fireworks.
At backstage I could clearly hear Micky General, the harbinger of the Messenger, who was not even worthy to carry his sandal, in the following words to a mass of young Rastas, ‘John Legend equally did his bit, but would understand that there is more to reggae music than just dancing for pleasure. ‘It is devotional and it is religious; it is inspirational and it heals’. This was in apparent reference to the kind of responses the Messenger’s songs elicited from his audience who sang and danced along ecstatically as if they were made to rehearse all the tracks before the show.
Ras Luciano, Joseph Hill might have mentioned it to you in a conversation that, the people of the land have such a huge devotion to reggae. You have tasted it and now you know. You are welcome back home anytime.
