Come Friday June 27, 2008, patrons of Highlife Rendezvous will have the singular pleasure of being treated to the pulsating sounds of the multiple awards winning highlife generalissimo, Amakye Dede and his Apollo High Kings Band.

The Highlife Rendezvous is an evening of live band music which seeks to promote and preserve the fine culture of highlife music and dance in Ghana. It comes off at the plush Coconut Grove Regency Hotel in Accra on the last Friday of every month.

Last month the evergreen Ramblers International Dance Band set the ball rolling with a rapturous performance leaving patrons yearning for more.

Amakye Dede would take patrons down memory lane with songs like “Iron Boy”, “Bebrebe”, and “Su Fre Wo Nyame” amongst others.

In Amakye Dede’s words you miss this month’s show at your own peril since it will be “SERIOUS”!

According to Theo, a management consultant we spoke to after the Ramblers show, “the excitement that highlife brought to the older generation is back”.

He added, “The highlife rendezvous gives adult audiences a perfect environment to hang out”.

According to Nii Amah Dagadu, Events & Communications Manager of Citi FM, “by featuring renowned highlife musicians we aim not only at reawakening the art of live band performances but inspire the younger generation”.

Beside the fine music, patrons could help themselves with the mixed grill palate, chilled club beer and a super networking opportunity. From 7:30pm when the band strikes the first note you are guaranteed a session of SERIOUS dance.

You can now look forward to a night of quality entertainment every month from Citi FM and Club Beer at the Highlife Rendezvous at the Coconut Grove Regency Hotel. The Highlife Rendezvous is a perfect hangout for the mature audience who want to enjoy great music, dance and meet people.
