The final journey of Suzzie Williams, the budding actress who died in a motor accident in Accra on September 8,takes place this weekend.
According to a funeral programme released by her family in collaboration with the Ghana Actors Guild, the funeral will take place at the MUSIGA head office in Accra.
Vigil will be kept on Friday October 14 followed by a burial mass on Saturday October 15 at the St. Charles Lwanga Catholic Church, Abeka.
The body will afterwards be conveyed to the Osu cemetery for internment and then back to the MUSIGA head office for the final funeral rites.
On Sunday October 16, there will be a memorial service at St. Charles Lwanga Catholic Church.
As part of preparations to give the late actress Suzzie Williams a befitting send-off, the Ghana Actors Guild organized a tributes/film show night for her at the Warehouse Nite Club in Accra last Sunday.
Suzzie’s parents, family members, actors and sympathisers attended the solemn ceremony.
A two-song album that has been put together by MUSIGA in memory of the deceased actress was launched. Some actors could not hold back their tears at this stage.
Actors Vivienne Ajo Achor, Pascaline Edwards, Wakefield Ackuaku and Irene Opare read the tributes that had been written by family, friends, colleagues, organizations and fans.
Unfortunately, technical problems made it impossible for the screening of all four yet-to-be-released movies that Suzzie had starred in.
Meanwhile, the Greater Accra Regional Tribunal has granted a ¢500 million bail to Edwin Eastman the 25 years old companion of Suzzie Williams.
According to a Daily Graphic report, Eastman has been charged with careless driving. He faces additional charges of inconsiderate driving, failing to report an accident and negligently causing harm.
He was ordered by the tribunal to report himself to the police twice a week. Eastman pleaded not guilty to the charges and he would reappear on November 8, 2005.
