AMSTERDAM — Sector organisation MOgroep expects waiting lists to develop for after school childcare for primary school-age children.
It said waiting lists are especially expected in the Randstad region and then especially in new construction districts.
MOgroep spokesman Rob Vergeer said childcare centres will find it impossible to obtain extra rooms to accommodate the children.
New regulations this year mean that primary schools must ensure that children can be cared for before and after school if parents request that and are prepared to pay for it.
Many schools have therefore entered into co-operative relationships with existing childcare facilities.
But MOgroep expects there will be insufficient places available.
