Samir A. deadly sick in terrorist jail
Convicted terrorist Samir A. is facing a serious health crisis in his isolation cell at the maximum security jail in Vught. A. is suffering from a chronic intestine ailment and his condition worsened after refusing medicine during a hunger strike last week.

Soldiers break rules again
Military police are investigating whether soldiers of the Dutch land army badly misbehaved at the Amsterdam nightclub 11 shortly before Christmas. Some of the group of 15 soldiers are alleged to have threatened a security officer and to have used hard drugs.

Noise makes spinal injection very accurate
The Jeroen Bosch Ziekenhuis in Den Bosch is investigating a new method to carry out spinal injections. Initial studies have indicated that technique is extremely accurate. Instead of the hand, the pressure on the needle will be regulated by a pump with a noise system. As the pressure increases, the tone of the noise rises. An anaesthetist can determine from the tone whether the needle is in the right place.
