The new chair of the university association VSNU, Sijbolt Noorda, is dissatisfied with the division between colleges of higher education and universities. "We need much more differentiation," he said. He said a division into five or six categories would be better. Universities are no llonger ''''one-size'''' fits all, Noorda said. There are university colleges, broad-based English-language bachelor programmes, honours programmes, specialised bachelor degrees and extra courses for talented students, he said.
