BREDA –The Prosecutor’s Office in Breda will neglect the offence to the their reputation De Vries inflicted, spokesman said Friday, ANP reports.
On 13 September last year De Vries was in Oisterwijk shooting another one of his investigative shows. He was looking for a policeman to confront him with compromising results of an independent investigation and would not leave when the policeman denied to see him. This resulted in his arrest. The reporter spent several hours in jail.
In the end of December last year, the process to fire the policeman was launched by his department, as, following De Vries, they also came to a conclusion that the policeman had used his position to come in contact with elderly ladies and convinced them to bequeath their property to him.
The police emphasized however, that this does not mean that investigative journalists will be allowed to trespass the law while doing their investigative
