From Frying Pan to Melting Pot |

AMSTERDAM — Former member of the Dutch Parliament Ayaan Hirsi Ali feels good living in the US after what she called “the Dutch frying pan”, De Volkskrant reports.
In her interview with New York Magazine, she said that she was still guarded by security personnel almost six months after she had left the Netherlands, but that she felt more like simply an individual in the melting pot now.
Hirsi Ali does not find it strange to be supporting a conservative think tank in Washington D.C. , the American Enterprise Institute. No one is forcing their ideas upon the others at the Institute, Hirsi Ali said. “We argue, but that’s how it always works in the West, I think”.
