Officer shoots man in Utrecht 3/16/2007
AMSTERDAM – A Utrecht police officer shot down a man on Sunday who was threatening police with a knife. The police announced this on Sunday. The man died of his injuries.

The officer was called to an incident in the Thorbeckelaan in Utrecht. On site he was threatened by two men, one of who was holding a knife, said a police spokesperson. The officer felt it was necessary to fire a shot.

Nothing further is known about the incident or the identity of the victim.
