SCHIPHOL - Schiphol airport has started a trial to allow travellers to pass through border control more quickly by scanning their passport themselves. The trial will run until the end of November, Schiphol said on Thursday. The experiment is part of efforts at Schiphol to make it possible to process more passengers in future, without queues getting longer. Schiphol and KLM have already introduced the automated self check-in desks. Schiphol will be conducting the trial passport scanning at the border control point in departure hall 2. Passengers can scan their passport themselves on a voluntary basis. The Marechaussee will continue to check the passports of these passengers during the trial period.
