AMSTERDAM (dpa) - The ear of a 21-year-old woman in Amsterdam was bitten off during a fight, it was reported on Monday.
The incident happened after a fight erupted among six people in a residential apartment in south-eastern Amsterdam. One of the people bit off the woman''s ear.
Using frozen meat from the refrigerator, her friends cooled her ear and drove the woman to the hospital.
Medical staff re-attached her ear, but it will take at least a day until her doctors know whether or not the re-attachment was successful.
It is not known what caused the fight. Police have arrested a man and a woman, but a spokesman for the Amsterdam police said it is not known yet who bit off the woman''s ear.
