Airport police close net around turkey sandwich saboteur: Telegraaf
Police at Amsterdam''s Schiphol airport have been able to establish at what point in the production process needles must have been inserted into six turkey sandwiches which ended up on Delta Airline flights, the Telegraaf reports on Thursday. A team of detectives is continuing to interview ''dozens'' of catering staff, cooks and drivers who were involved in the production of the sandwiches, which were found on four separate flights, the paper said. Family On Wednesday, police said the sandwiches and needles are being flown back to the Netherlands for tests. The needles were found in six sandwiches on four flights between Schiphol and the US. Two were found by members of the same family on different flights, according to media reports. The sandwiches were made by Gate Gourmet, a Swiss firm and one of the world''s biggest airline caterers. Only Delta flights appear to be affected.

Rabobank bank card restrictions cut fraud
Rabobank’s decision to stop customers using their bank cards to withdraw money from cash machines outside Europe has resulted in an 85% drop in skimming incidents, the bank said on Friday. The automatic blockade means criminals cannot use fake cards outside the EU which they have made using information captured by hidden cameras and scanners. Over the past month, this has prevented the loss of €1.2m, the bank said. Since the ban was introduced at the beginning of June, customers have to ask to be allowed to withdraw money from cash point machines outside Europe. ‘The amount of damage has gone down sharply and we hope this trend will continue,’ the bank said.
