Stars-Cranes: More Trouble For Cranes
Uganda coach Mohamed Abass would have to reshuffle his team for Sunday’s world cup game against the Black Stars after recording two injuries at training yesterday.
According to Joy Online, the reserve goalkeeper for the Ugandans and one out field player picked up injuries during their first training session at the Paa Joe training grounds at KNUST .
Mohamed Abass must now attempt the giant killing feat of defeating the Black Stars with a squad of sixteen players.
The Cranes arrived in the country on Wednesday with an eighteen-man squad.
The Ugandans occupy bottom place in Group two with seven points after eight matches in the African qualifying series.
They are however confident they can halt Ghana’s march to Germany 2006 in Kumasi on Sunday.
The Uganda coach has been telling his players not to star gaze when they trot out against the Black Stars of Ghana on Sunday.
With a bulk of his players based in Uganda with little or no international experience, Mohammed Abass is worried his players would be carried away by the huge international stature of Chelsea’s Michael Essien and skipper Stephen Appiah.
The Egyptian coach told Joy Sports he has a lot of respect for Ghana but expects his boys to fight for all the points.
