Ashantigold Finalises Deal With Duncan
Black Starlets helmsman David Duncan is at post in Obuasi to begin another premiership stint as Coach but this t! ime with AshantiGold.

AshantiGold has finally put pen to paper and have agreed terms with David Duncan to take over as the substantive Coach of the club for next season following the exit of Belgian Hans Van Der Plume.

The coaching role at AshantiGold became vacant following the exit of Hans Van Der Plume this season.

The Belgian resigned coincidentally with Chief Executive Andy Sam last season but failed to give reasons for resigning.

Van Der Pluyme failed to turn the fortunes of AshantiGold around when he took charge of the Obuasi based club.

He only managed to maintain the club in mid-table.

CITI FM can confirm that the two parties (i.e. David Duncan and AshantiGold) have finalised the contractual terms even though the details are yet to be made public.

The former Accra Great Olympics trainer would soon be out-doored to enable him get a fair idea of the materials at his disposal before recruiting for the coming season which commences next March.

Coach Duncan returns to the premiership after a season of absence.

He previously coached Sekondi Hasaacas before his national appointment about a year ago.

Duncan was in charge of the Black Starlets team that grabbed silver at the continent''s juvenile championship held in The Gambia as well as leading the team to emerge as the only unbeaten side in the World U-17 championship held in Peru in August/September this year.

Ashgold ended last season in seventh position with 42 points, 21 clear of winner Asante Kotoko.

Coach Evans Allotey is currently the caretaker coach for the club and he will be at the helm of affairs for the club in the on-going Otumfuo Invitational tournament
