Black Stars To Camp In Tunisia Ahead of the Nations Cup finals in Egypt next year, the Black Stars are scheduled to camp in Tunis on December 27, 2005, to prepare for the African football showpiece.
Ghana was missing in action the last time the Cup of Nations was held. That was last two years in Tunisia where the host nation won the Cup at the expense of Morocco.
Whilst in Tunisia, the Stars are expected to play two friendly games against Egypt and Tunisia before emplaning to Egypt.
In an interview, Head Coach of the Black Stars, Ratomir Dujkovic indicated that a large number of the foreign players would have loved to camp in Europe , but the decision to camp in Tunisia is because of proximity.
He insisted that the country wants to be the first country to win the Nations Cup five-times. ‘Our foreign players would have loved to camp in Europe, but we chose Tunis because of its nearness to Egypt’, he said. ‘We want to become the first African country to win the African Cup for the fifth time and I am convinced that we can achieve that’, Doya added.
