Appiah snubbed Barcelona and Arsenal 12/23/2006
Ghana national team captain, Stephen Appiah, claims he turned down offers from Arsenal and Barcelona in in favour of staying with Fenerbahce.

The midfielder says he attracted the interest of both clubs after his performances at the World Cup in Germany.

However, Appiah says he rejected offers both clubs to stay at Fenerbahce after joining the club at the start of last season.

"At the start of the season I received offers to move," Appiah told Sport.

"Among them were clubs as important as Barcelona and Arsenal.

"I had to say to all of them that, no, I preferred to stay at Fenerbahce.

"Barca and Arsenal made me very attractive offers."
