Ex-Black Stars’ Skipper Dies |

By Times Sports Reporter Saturday, 06 January 2007 Addo Odametey, captain of the Black Stars’ squad that won the 1965 African Cup of Nations in Tunisia, has died at the age of 69 after a short illness.
According to a family source, Addo Odametey, who won many caps for Ghana when he captained the Black Stars from 1964 to 1970, passed away on December 29.
Addo Odametey is survived by a wife and six children.
He was also a captain of Accra Hearts of Oak and later became coach of the club.
Funeral arrangments will be announced later.
