The Kenya Football Federation (KFF) has ratified the appointment of Sammy Obingo as the new secretary of the federation.
KFF''s acting vice chairman Titus Kasuve said Obingo''s appointment is part of restructuring plans of the federation.
He replaces Dan Omino, who along with the former KFF chairman Alfred Sambu have been suspended.
"Obingo takes over as the new secretary to play the leading role in normalising the running of football in the country," Kasuve said.
Obingo is included in the Kenyan delegation named to travel to Zurich next week for talks with Fifa on 15 January to discuss the possible reinstatement of Kenya into international football.
Obingo''s appointment was ratified at an executive committee meeting of the KFF at their new headquarters at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.
The meeting which was held against the directive of the government nearly hit a snag after the members were locked out of the venue by a squad of anti-riot policemen under instructions not to let anyone into the premises.
It was only after the intervention of the senior police officers that the meeting was allowed to be held after about a two-hour delay.
