The coach of Benin''s national side, Edme Codjo, has resigned, the Benin Football Federation (FBF) announced on Saturday.
Codjo has only been in charge of "The Squirrels" for 18 months having taken over from French coach Serge Deveze.
Codjo, who won just two of 19 games in charge of the national side in two previous stints at the helm, is expected to be replaced by another French coach, Didier Notheaux.
The FBF nominated Notheaux to take over and his appointment is being considered by a special commission set up by the Benin Sports Ministry.
Notheaux previously was in charge of Rennes, Le Havre, Sochaux and Valence in France as well as the national team of Burkina Faso.
Benin are currently preparing for their 2008 African Nations Cup qualifier against Mali on 25 March.
The Group Nine game will take place in Bamako.
