Taylor On Way To Bulgaria • For knee Surgery |

Local football idol, Charles Taylor, is finished with Accra Hearts of Oak for the season after just one match for the club.
Hearts will fly out their prized returnee player to Europe for surgery to repair the recurring knee damage that has threatened his brilliant carreer recently.
Taylor is expected to fly out with Hearts coach, Mitko Kostadinov Dobrez, in coming days to Bulgaria, the coach’s home country, for a once-and-for-all solution to the knee injury that dates back to the player’s late days with Asante Kotoko.
Kostadinov Dobrez told the Graphic Sports at the Carl Reindorf Park in Dansoman last Wednesday that the surgery has become necessary to secure Taylor’s career for future campaigns.
For now, however, the coach remains convinced that Charles Taylor’s season with Hearts has been abruptly truncated by the injury.
“Taylor, I am afraid, is out for the rest of the season,” Kostadinov said in the interview after Hearts could manage just a goalless draw with Liberty Professionals in the 17th week league match.
Taylor, indeed, lasted just 39 minutes in the match and consistently signalled for his substitution until his replacement by Moses Andoh.
With that the enigmatic football star ended an ‘eventful’ return to his former club after a three-year sojourn with both local and international opponents that included Hearts’ arch rivals, Asante Kotoko.
Kostadinov said the trip with Taylor may include defender Kwabena Boafo who was at the park to watch the match against Liberty. Boafo has been out of action for long with a nagging knee injury.
Taylor is currently on loan to Hearts from Etoile du Sahel of Tunisia, but his reunification with the club with whom he earned continental glory following their Champions League success in 2000 appears shortlived.
