Accra (Gh) – 13 January 2007 - The Ghana Football Association has extended its condolences to Asante Kotoko and the family of the club’s former Accra Representative, Kwame Amoa Bosompem who died on Friday morning after a short illness.
Amoa Bosompem had been on admission at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital for the past week for what close associates said was mild stroke.
Amoa Bosompem, in his late 40s, was the long-standing Accra Representative of Kotoko.
His death shocked the football community and while his former working colleague in the Herbert Mensah administration, George Amoako was too shattered to utter any word, his former deputy Opoku Agyemang said his death was unbelievable.
The GFA’s General Secretary, Kofi Nsiah said Amoa Bosompem’s death was a great loss to Ghana football.
“Kwame as I know him is somebody who is always ready to learn and he is somebody who is also ready to share ideas with people and his reminders to certain details of football are so crucial.
I quite remember one thing which I think we can conveniently credit the late Kwame with and that was his constant reminders about the synchronization of our league calendar with that of the European calendar so that our teams that go into Africa will be top fit at the beginning of CAF Inter-Club competitions and that dream of Kwame has now become a reality. We have actually missed Kwame.” GRi…/
