| GFA boss sues for ¢2 billion |

The President of the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi has sued the Graphic Sports newspaper and two of its senior journalists for defamation.
Kwesi Nyantakyi says a news item in the Graphic Sports of Tuesday May 22, suggested that his influence resulted in the dropping of a player of Division One side, Catholic Stars from the national Under-17 team.
Perro Gwalla, a regular substitute at the Togo African junior championships, was dropped from the national side alongside other players in a restructuring exercise but his club chairman, Frank Atogyirie claimed a feud with the FA boss might have resulted in the decision to drop his boy.
Kwesi Nyantakyi says the story is malicious and wants the Graphic Sports editor Felix Abayateye, senior reporter Andy Quao who wrote the story and the paper to compensate him with ¢2 billion for defaming his person.
Catholic Stars lost their middle league game against Nyantakyi''s Wa All Stars by 3:0 but later filed and lost a protest against All Stars for allegedly fielding unqualified players.
