FIH appoints Ghanaian officials for junior world cup 6/23/2005
Ghanaian Richmond Attipoe has been named by the International Hockey Federation as one of the umpires to officiate at the Under-21 Junior World Cup in Rotterdam.

The young Bank of Ghana employee, currently the only FIH umpire in Ghana, is among twenty umpires elected to officiate at the competition.

An executive member of the Ghana Hockey Association, Nii Quaye-Kumah will also be at the Rotterdam championship as a technical director.

Egypt and South Africa will represent Africa at the sixteen-team competition from June 29 to July 11.

Ghana failed to qualify for the competition when it finished third at the African qualifying championship last year.

National team and Bank of Ghana coach, Richard Abaidoo, will use the opportunity to upgrade his technical knowledge with a coaching course, which will be run by the FIH during the tournament.
