Claude LeRoy has been accused of stabbing Ghana in the back after the revelation that he has submitted his CV to be considered as South Africa coach.
The Frenchman is reported to be in the frame for the Bafana Bafana coaching post vacated by Carlos Alberto Parreira on Monday and this revelation could lead to LeRoy''s sacking by Ghana.
No successor to the Brazilian has been named yet, though assistants Pitso Mosimane and Jairo Leal will remain in charge in the interim.
LeRoy was interviewed for the position in 2006 before Parreira was finally appointed, and has previously described being at the helm of Bafana as a "dream job".
A Safa insider has told KickoffGhana that LeRoy has submitted his CV again this time round, though it is unclear how his submission has been received by the Safa hierarchy, or whether he is a serious contender for the job.
The Ghana Football Association was under fire to sack the Frenchman after his errors led to the Black Stars finishing third at the recent African Cup of Nations hosted by the West African country.
But the GFA kept faith with Le Roy by tabling a two-year contract from but he has yet to put pen-to-paper.
A Ghanasoccernet source within the GFA says this revelation is likely to draw the ire of the GFA board members and they can withdraw their offer for the Frenchman for ''stabbing us in the back''.
The 60-year-old is no stranger to African football, having coached Cameroon (1985-88 and 1998), Senegal (1990-92), DR Congo (2004-06) and Ghana (2006- present), but his credentials on the world stage could be called into question.
He took over Ghana after the 2006 World Cup in Germany and has led them to 19th in the Fifa World Rankings in July, their highest-ever position.
Efforts by Kickoff to reach LeRoy or his agent, Gael Mahe, for comment have proved fruitless.
Parreira told the media at Monday''s news conference that he and Safa had come to an amicable decision that he will relinquish the post of head coach from May 2.
