| Ghana’s boxing trio lose title fights |

Ghana’s string of boxing loses begun in Scotland and down to South Africa where all her three boxers failed to win the fights.
Joshua Okine failed in his bid to retain his Commonwealth welterweight crown when he surrendered it on points to the 22-year-old Scot, Kevin Anderson.
Okine known at the “Bukom Tsatsu” could not sting his opponent in the full-house at Kirkcaldy Ice Arena.
Despite a strong final round from Joshua Okine, Anderson hung on to take the fight 114-115, 116-113, 115-114 on the judges'' scorecards.
The fight was Okine’s first defence to the title he won early this year in Accra.
Featherweight boxer, Osmanu Akaba also lost his WBC international title in South Africa to Jeffrey Mathebula on points 117-111, 117-112 and 116-114 on the three score cards.
Anyetei Laryea completed Ghana’s miserable weekend in the ring when he also lost on points in South Africa to Gabula Vabuza in their WBA international title fight.
On the local boxing scene, national featherweight champion, Ben Odamtey on Friday night retained his title with a majority decision 114-114, 116-113 and 115-111 over Lanquaye Wilson while Thomas Awinbono scored a TKO over Godwin Cudjoe to win the national super welterweight title at the Azumah Nelson sports complex.
