Kevin Boateng Family Under Attack |

According to reports emanating from Germany, new Ghanaian international Kevin Prince Boateng’s family are under attack from irate German fans who cannot believe their idol skipper Michael Ballack will miss the FIFA 2010 World Cup. Ballack got injured in the finals of the English FA Cup between Chelsea and Portsmouth after a sliding tackle from Kevin Boateng who is born to a Ghanaian father and German mother, and grew up in Berlin, Germany. Boateng who is currently training with the Black Stars in preparation for the World Cup which kick-starts on June 11, noted that his family has been under attack from both angry fans and the media in Germany, adding that they have been turned into an “evil enemy”. He told German Sports paper ‘The Bild’ that he has apologized to the German skipper three times but this has fallen on deaf ears as he continues to receive immense bashing following the unfortunate incident. He claimed that people are overstepping the mark by including his family in the verbal onslaught. “What is happening has gone too far, and many people are ignoring the fact that I was also humiliated by the slap I received from Michael Ballack.” The Black Stars player who is expected to get his first cap when Ghana begins their campaign against Serbia in their opening game of the World Cup, also pointed out that a number of Chelsea players who were witnesses to the incident agreed that he meant no harm in the tackle. “I have had contact with two or three Chelsea players and they Since the incident, Boateng has openly and repeatedly apologized for the unfortunate tackle. Meanwhile reports filtering in from the Black Stars camp in France indicate that Kevin Boateng has settled in well.
