Bukom Banku knocks out Argentina’s Velazco |

Ghanaian boxer, Brimah Kamoko, popularly known as Bukom Banku, became the new World Professional Boxing Federation (WPBF) light heavyweight champion in the early hours of Sunday, after stopping Argentina’s Hector Velazco through a 10th round technical knockout.
Banku knocked Velazco down, once in the ninth round before finally stopping him in the tenth at the Ohene Djan Stadium.
Meanwhile, Banku failed to fulfill his promise of proceeding to the ring in a coffin but was rather conveyed there in a wheelchair to the amusement of the about 3,000 fans. Bukom Banku however admits that Velazco was tough customer.
In other bouts, Joshua Okine, a.k.a Bukom Tsatsu defeated Mohammed Abdulayev of Uzbekistan to annex the vacant WPBF, welterweight title.
Albert Mensah also won the vacant WPBF super lightweight title after defeating Russia’s Karen Tevosiyan, unanimously.
South Africa’s Peter Mashamaite caused a major upset after defeating Ghana’s Ishamel Tetteh to win the WBO Africa super featherweight title.
