The Black Satellites of Ghana needed a huge favour from neighbors Egypt to book a place in the last 16 of the ongoing U-20 World Cup in Turkey.
Two second half goals from the Young Pharoahs against England in the final Group E game means Ghana will pick the last slot of the four best third placed teams in the tournament.
Even though the win by Egypt puts them on 3 points, and a goal difference of zero-same as Ghana- the West African side qualified ahead of Egypt because they have scored five goals in the entire campaign in the group stages whilst Egypt have scored four goals.
The other three teams which join Ghana into the one-sixteenth stage of the tournament are South Korea, Mexico and Uzbekistan.
Ghana will now play Portugal in the next stage of the competition on Wednesday.
